Welcome to the Latin America and Caribbean Region


The Latin America and Caribbean Region was formed in 2003 to unite conservation efforts in Central and South America. As part of the Society for Conservation Biology, the Region is able to pull on the influence and abilities of its members to facilitate efforts in this region.

SCB-LACA Region - Professional Development Scholarships 2023

The deadline for applications is 11:59 pm (US Central Time) on December 1, 2023

The Latin American and Caribbean (LACA) Region of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) is pleased to announce our scholarship opportunity for 2023, which is available to graduate students working in the LACA region. SCB-LACA will be offering four USD $1,000 competitive scholarships in support of expenses associated with emerging conservation professionals conducting their thesis work in disciplines and subjects directly related to applied conservation science in LACA, and for which some tangible conservation benefit or outcome is anticipated.
