SCB Groups Meetings

Region Congresses

SCB's Regions represent various geographic regions and disciplines around the globe. Regions may host congresses in even-numbered years, or in years that SCB is not hosting its International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB).

Region meetings strive to facilitate networking and training opportunities in conservation biology, advance conservation science and practice in their respective regions, and provide a forum for scientists and students to present the latest in conservation research and practice.

Working Group Congress

SCB Working Groups focus on topical areas relevant to the mission and goals of SCB. Sometimes Working Groups submit proposals for symposia at ICCB, but they may also host their own congresses in non-ICCB years. Learn more about SCB Working Groups, the topics they cover, and how Working Groups are formed.

Chapter Congress

Chapters provide a fun and easy way for SCB members to become involved in conservation activities at the local level. Through Chapters, SCB members can engage in on-the-ground conservation work, public policy, education from grade school to college, public outreach, and many other important conservation activities. Chapters also provide support and networking for SCB's many members who are scattered across the globe.

Chapter activities are often organized at SCB biennial international meetings, but Chapters may also sponsor their own local meetings. For more information about SCB Chapters, please visit SCB Local Chapter page.
